Chronicles on Consciousness and Culture
A trilogy exploring the sacred technologies of sound and the eternal human search for transcendence
The Story That's Never Been Told
There are stories that live in the margins of history—stories that shaped lives but never made headlines, movements that transformed consciousness but remained invisible to the mainstream world.
This is one of those stories.
For nearly two decades, I've carried the memory of something extraordinary: a time when music was medicine, when dance floors were temples, and when strangers became family under starlit skies. It was the underground Psy culture scene of the early 2000s—a movement that emerged from Goa's beaches and spread across Indian cities like wildfire, creating spaces where authentic transcendence was possible.
But like all pure things that touch the sacred, it didn't stay pure for long.
Over the coming moons, I'm releasing a trilogy that traces this journey: from the ancient consciousness technologies that inspired it, through my own accidental role as a facilitator in that world, to what happens when commerce discovers something built on love.
The essays:
25th June (New Moon):
"The Death of Awakening - How Psy culture lost its soul to commerce"
2nd July (Half Moon):
"The Accidental Shaman - How I became a dealer in altered consciousness"
10th July (Full Moon):
"Ancient Future - What happened when ancient practice met four-four beats"
If you were part of that era—if you remember dancing until sunrise without a single photo to prove it happened, if you felt the wordless understanding that passed between souls on those dance floors—you'll recognize this story. It's not just about music or parties. It's about humanity's eternal search for transcendence and what happens when that search gets commodified.
And if you weren't there but have ever wondered how ancient wisdom finds new forms, how consciousness technologies evolve across millennia, or what we lose when authentic experiences become "content"—this trilogy is for you too.

P.S. - If you have authentic photos from those underground gatherings—the real moments of joy, connection, and transcendence—I'd be honoured to feature them with full credit. Those images would bring this story to life in ways words alone cannot. Feel free to reach out.
this looks interesting Nihil! was always fascinated by this topic but couldn't get time to read about it. Your trilogy looks a great starting point!
